THE IRAQI CONNECTION

UCSI’s latest international recognition bolsters its global profile.

UCSI University has expanded its Middle East footprint after the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research endorsed it, adding it to its official list of recognised Malaysian universities.

With formal recognition, more Iraqi students are expected to join UCSI’s growing Middle Eastern cohort that traditionally gravitates to medical, engineering and other science-based studies.

According to the Iraqi cultural advisor in Kuala Lumpur, the move comes on the back of UCSI’s strong performance in the QS World University Rankings 2019 that saw the University being distinguished as Malaysia’s best private university, ranked in the top 2% of all universities in the world.

The recognition was also influenced by glowing student feedback and experience, the significant value students derived from their education and its infrastructure following a recent campus expansion that added more than 1mil ft2 of state-of-the-art learning space on campus.

International students make up more than 30% of UCSI’s 10,000-strong student population. Students from more than 110 nations have studied at UCSI.
