We are thrilled to announce that Asst Prof Dr Teng Kah Hou and Assoc Prof Eur Ing Ts Dr Yeap Swee Pin, esteemed academics from the Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Built Environment, have been awarded the first runner-up position in the prestigious UK-Malaysia Education Institutional Partnership of the Year category at the 5th British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards 2024.

This award recognises the exceptional collaboration and impact created by the partnership between a UK higher education institution (Liverpool John Moores University) and a Malaysian organisation (UCSI University) in delivering significant contributions to the education sector in Malaysia over the past five years.

Dr Teng and Dr Yeap's work on the UCSI-Cheras Low Carbon Innovation Hub was key to securing this recognition. The said hub is a UCSI University-led collaboration focused on enabling low carbon development in Cheras, Malaysia. It conducts research and drives innovation in areas like sustainable energy, low carbon infrastructure, community climate action, and sustainable waste and water management.

The institution takes great pride in its international collaborations and partnerships, which provide invaluable opportunities for knowledge sharing, cultural exchange and the advancement of education and research. The success of the UCSI-LJMU partnership serves as an inspiration for future collaborations and highlights the importance of fostering global connections in the pursuit of excellence.
