Dr Ahamed Khan Awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award 2018 by IEEE RAS Malaysia Chapter

Being a striking individual showing outstanding service for the benefit and advancement of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) in Malaysia, Assistant Professor Dr MKA Ahamed Khan has made UCSI University exceedingly proud as recently, he was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award 2018.

Presented by IEEE Malaysia chapter Chairman Dr Fawnizu Azmadi Hussin and IEEE RAS Malaysia chapter Chairman Dr Irraivan Elamvazuthi, Dr Khan who has always been passionate about his work proudly accepted this award and hopes that he can continue to contribute his knowledge in the area of his expertise for the benefit of the society.

“Personally, this award means recognition that I am heading in the right direction in line with the path to success; that following my heart works, that doing what I love, what I am passionate about, works. It gives me a sense of peace.”

He also mentioned that this award has profoundly showed his commitment in helping more people understanding the very heart of Robotics as well as education in general.

“Professionally it means that I can connect with people in this highly competitive complex world on a bigger scale, help more people, create positive change on a bigger scale, contribute to a society like IEEE which focuses on Robotics and overall to education,” he added.

This suits IEEE’s core purpose which is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE will be essential for the global technical community and to technical professionals everywhere and be universally recognised for the contributions of technology and of technical professionals in improving global conditions.

Along with his recognition, Dr Khan has not forgotten to appreciate the support of his family and friends who have become his driving force to succeed. Not to forget his inexpressible gratitude to those at UCSI University especially the faculty heads and his colleagues for their support and motivation throughout his career as an academician.

He hopes this recognition will motivate his students whom he believes need not just have a strong educational background, but also to find the importance of being a professional society that understands the current technological trends and standards. Hence, they, as well will become great future leaders.
